FUNimation has set the EVS schedule for the dub premiere of Psycho-Pass and it looks like we’ll be able to hear the first four episodes dubbed starting on January 28th, 2014. The twenty-two episode series was simulcast by FUNimation and picked up for a DVD/BD release, but it hasn’t been scheduled yet. With the reveal date here for these episodes, a March 2014 release is very likely for at least the first half of the series unless they offer both parts at the same time, which they do from time to time.
The series was recently given the green light for a second season and a theatrical feature, which you can read about here as well as check our reviews of the simulcast.
Plot concept: In the future, even just thinking about a crime is enough to make you guilty – and justice is dispensed from the barrel of a gun. Detectives work in teams made up of Enforcers and Inspectors. Enforcers take out the bad guys, and Inspectors make sure their partners don’t cross the fine line between good and evil. The great equalizer in the war against thugs is the Dominator, a futuristic weapon that can read minds and assess the probability that a citizen will turn criminal. There are no trials. Only Enforcers, Inspectors, and the Dominator. Commit a crime in your mind – and the Dominator will make sure you pay the ultimate price.
