The Japanese home video releases continue on for the series Free! Iwatobi High and the third bonus episode is due with the fifth volume that comes out in January. And with that volume containing a new bonus short on it that has the boys having a bit more fun with each other and the water, that means Kyoto Animation is showing off a bit more of it with a new under a minute clip. The shorts, called Fr!Fr! are fun little side bits that just add some goofiness to the show and plays up the tropes for the fans in a cute way.
The series began release on September 11th, 2013 and will finish with its sixth volume landing on February 6th, 2014. Blu-ray releases are priced at 7,140 yen each while DVD releases are 6,090 yen each.
Series Concept: The story revolves around Haruka Nanase, a boy who has always loved to be immersed in water, and to swim in it. Before graduating from elementary school, he participated in a swimming tournament along with his fellow swimming club members, Makoto Tachibana, Nagisa Hazuki, and Rin Matsuoka. After achieving victory, each of the boys went their separate ways.
Time passed, and in the middle of their uneventful high school lives Rin appears and challenges Haruka to a match, showing Haruka his overwhelming power. Not wanting it to end like this, Haruka, gathers together Makoto and Nagisa once again and brings a new member named Rei Ryugazaki to create the Iwatobi High School Swimming Club in order to defeat Rin.
