The Irregular At Magic High School
Originally announced back in October with simply noting plans for an adaptation in 2014, a little more has surfaced regarding the light novel series Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, aka The Irregular At Magic High School. The property is going the TV series route and is slated for a spring 2014 date. The light novel series has done well since its introduction in the summer of 2011 as this month is seeing the release of the twelfth installment for it. The show is definitely on the fast track as part of Dengeki Bunko’s 20th anniversary push to bring more of its materials into the spotlight as a two minute trailer has also been revealed which includes the production team and cast. The series is set to be directed by Ono Manabu with character designs by Ishida Kana. Animation is being done by Madhouse.
Plot concept: Magic is a product of neither legends nor fairy tales, but instead has become a technology of reality since a time unknown to people. Supernatural power became a technology systematized through magic, while magic became a technical skill. A “Supernatural Power User” became a “Magic Technician.” Magic Technicians (in short, Magicians) are nurtured through Magic High Schools and Universities.
