The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
Miss Monochrome has done a lot of the things that idols do as a regular thing, but one of the most obvious things that she hasn’t done is to actually audition. That alone certainly makes sense since it could be a game changer, so she ends up going into that gig there, starting with a ramen eating commercial promotion where she has to talk it up as a reporter in a quick and simple way. Not that she can do it right based on the way she is, especially since she’s an android. But one door closing can open and another and it’s cute to see how she ends up doing a dietician gig for a bit since she can cook things without a lot of tools, though without any taste capability it’s pretty useless. While she doesn’t get the gig she wants, it’s good to see how she finds a place where her abilities are well suited and she can succeed with it. Not that she can express an emotion of satisfaction.

In Summary:
When you realize that she hasn’t actively auditioned for much after all this time, you do have to laugh at it. With her attempt at getting a side job at the moment, we see how she tries to expand what she knows and is capable of, pushing Maneo into some unusual roles, from gourmet reporter to someone handling food, which is just not a good idea. We get a few quick gag positions here that work nicely even if it doesn’t get her closer to her dream. If anything, it pushes her further away, which isn’t a bad thing considering the number of years she’s waited to become an idol.
