Maken-Ki! Two
With a good listen to the new opening song by sweet ARMS, the two promotions out for Maken-Ki! Two definitely reminds us that it’ll be a pretty fanservice heavy series. . The first season of the series debuted in 2011 and is now set for a January 15th, 2014 premiere according to the new commercial released below that plays up the fanservice and silliness well. While the first season was produced by AIC for its animation, Xebec is stepping in this time around but it has a lot of familiar people working on it as Hiraku Kaneko is directing based on the script by Yousuke Kuroda and using character designs by Akio Takami. As noted previously when talking about the anime being bundled with the upcoming manga release, this is the team that’s working on that.
Plot Concept: Based on the manga series by Hiromitsu Takeda, this romantic comedy is about Takeru Ohyama, a typical perverted teenage boy. His new school doesn’t require entrance exams, and it just turned co-ed! Unfortunately, his dreams of a happy high school life are dashed when he finds out the school is much more than it seems. All of the students wield a special item—a Maken—to unleash their magical abilities in duels! Can Takeru find a Maken that works for him? Even while trying to fit in at a new school and dealing with all kinds of girl problems?
