It’s been known for a bit that the role of Sarah Connor in Terminator Genesis was coming down to a choice between Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson. And now the dust has settled from that choice and it’s been revealed that Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones fame will take on the role previous played by Linda Hamilton. Clarke will be joining the production that has Game of Thrones and Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor helming it and it looks like Jason Clarke is closer to closing the deal on the John Connor role while Arnold Schwarzenneger is coming back as well.
According to Deadline, “The series will follow a critical moment from the original 1984 Terminator movie, taking it in a completely different direction that the film. Plot details about the upcoming Terminator movie are being kept under wraps, but it too is expected to be tied to the first movie. As the rebooted film trilogy and the new television series progress, the two narratives will be designed to intersect with each other.”
The film is set for a July 1st, 2015 release with a supporting TV series planned as well. The film will be directed by Alan Taylor.
