Paul Rudd
With the other main contender of Joseph Gordon-Levitt having opted to go the Sandman route, it looks like things will be going quickly now with Ant-Man as it appears that Paul Rudd will be taking the role. Things are finalizing in that direction at this time for the next new Marvel Studios feature film property that will be directed by Edgar Wright based on a script he wrote with Joe Cornish.
Rudd became a bit more known back when he appeared in Clueless and has largely worked in comedies and dramatic movies since then but seeing him as an action-ish hero that the superhero role demands will definitely be new for him. It’s expected that he’ll be signed on in a similar way to other actors, many of which have had nine picture deals that get whittled down with cameos and the like in order to integrate things more, and it’s possibly we’ll see him in a few other areas as well.
