Set for release on September 3rd with a good chunk of the original creative team back in place, Universal Pictures has let loose with a new trailer for Riddick, which in some places is still being called Riddick: Rule The Dark. The feature brings Vin Diesel together with Karl Urban and Katee Sackhoff for a story written and directed by David Twohy, who handled the first two films. The feature is budgeted at $38 million and looks to use its money wisely, which we saw in the original which was done for $23 million back in 2000.
Plot concept: Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.
