We’re placing this firmly in the rumor category, but it’s something that was talked about earlier in 2013 and it makes the most sense for how ABC would want to try and work the female audience they have for the network, add in a solid spy drama and also bring in the comic book fans. According to the Mirror, Hayley Atwell has signed on to a TV pilot production for Agent Carter, which was last seen in the One-Shot on Iron Man 3 after her role as the character in Captain America: The First Avenger. The One-Shot was very well received and spurred a lot of talking by those involved and others within Marvel about how it would be an ideal way to keep the 40′s era going, seed more for the future and tie in a lot of things while also giving a prominent leading actress role out there into the mix.
It’s expected to operate similar to how the Agents of SHIELD series did in having a pilot to series committment and going through the process that many others will be over the next few months as pilot season gets underway. With it likely being an in-house production as well from ABC Studios, it’ll have a stronger guarantee if everything comes off right. And if they work off of what they did in the One-Shot, they should be pretty set.

“It’s Marvel’s major project of 2014, and it will be a big budget production.
“Hayley is absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity and is incredibly grateful to Marvel fans who have basically been campaigning for a spin-off show for the past six months.
“It means moving to LA for six months but her friends and family are all behind her, and this is a huge opportunity.” In October the actress, who has previously stared alongside Keira Knightley in the Oscar-winning 2008 film, The Duchess, addressed speculation about the mooted series.
