It’s been pretty quiet on the Sense8 front since the project was announced earlier in 2013 as one of the upcoming series from Netflix. The production brings together Andy and Lana Wachowski, who are doing a bit of a mini comeback in the last couple of years, with J. Michael Straczynski. There wasn’t a lot said about what the series was going to be about, but now some material has finally surfaced ahead of it going into production in June of this year. And it’s going to be an expansive production as they’re intending to shoot in the UK, Seoul, Mumbai, Nairobi, Berlin, Mexico City, San Francisco and Chicago.
According to the report, Sense8 will focus on eight people scattered around the globe who are connected by a shared violent vision. Each episode will follow the characters’ separate stories, with one entity attempting to unite them while another tries to kill them.
No casting has been announced but the basic character points have been revealed for some of them as the report talks about them thus:
“a closeted Mexican telenovela hunk, an Icelandic party girl, a German safe-cracker, a Korean businesswoman, an African bus driver and a transgender American blogger. Perhaps most intriguing, though, are Jonas, an apparently magic African-American who appears to all of the “visionaries,” and his evil counterpart, Mr. Whispers.”
