Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes
While there was a change in directors between the first and second as Rupert Wyatt opted not to return for the sequel, there will be no such problems when it comes to the third film. Matt Reeves has signed on to handle the third as yet titled film, news that comes just after his cut of Dawn of the Planet of he Apes was screened for the distributor. Reeves will be more closely involved in the script for the third installment, working with Mark Bomback, who wrote Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The relaunch film, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, landed in 2011 and surprised everyone as it raked in $482 million worldwide and came across as a smart way to rebuild the franchise and give it a new, modern take with its own twists while not replicating the original films.
It’s expected that the third film will be a priority and Reeves will be tackling that before anything else.
