Nozomi Entertainment is set to bring out the final part of this franchise on May 6th, 2014 with Aria: The Origination. The release is one that is nicely packed with the thirtyeen episode series plus the OVA entitled Arietta. The release mirrors what we had seen before in that it’s on DVD and contains the original Japanese language track with English subtitles. It has a solid selection of extras on it including the seven picture dramas, the clean closing, U.S. trailer, cast discussion on ARIA, director discussion on ARIA, SATOJUN’s “Venice, I’m Sorry!” Returns parts 1 & 2, and Nozomi Entertainment trailers.
The 380 minute release is priced at $39.99 and will be released in litebox form for $39.99 retail.
Plot concept: As winter melts into spring, Akari, Aika and Alice continue to work hard on becoming Neo-Venezia’s top gondoliers. Aika starts to take on more responsibility around Himeya, Alice travels up the challenging canal near Hope Hill; even Akari spends a day working on a huge gondola called a traghetto! But there’s still so much to learn — and the final test to become a Prima, which once seemed so far off in the future, might not be so far off anymore.
