Originally set for a busy Christmas release and then pushed back to January 17th, Paramount Pictures has let loose with a number of new images for the Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit feature. We recently got the first clip from the film as well as a few character posters but now there’s an extended look at a number of scenes below and different character configurations for the film. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is not a continuation of the character from previous works but rather a reboot of the character that deals with the younger days stories. With the film inching closer, and some words here and there about a potential delay, check out the trailer below for the film now that has Chris Pine as the lead of what they hope is a new franchise again.
Plot concept: The story follows him from 9/11, through his tour of duty in Afghanistan, which scarred him forever, and into his early days in the Financial Intelligence Unit of the modern CIA where he becomes an analyst, under the guardianship of his handler, Harper (Kevin Costner). When Ryan believes he’s uncovered a Russian plot to collapse the United States economy, he goes from being an analyst to becoming a spy and must fight to save his own life and those of countless others, while also trying to protect the thing that’s more important to him than anything, his relationship with his fiancée Cathy (Keira Knightley).
