Details are slim at this point but it’s come out and been confirmed that Warner Bros. will indeed be releasing the 1960′s Batman TV show in a complete collection on home video in 2014. The series ran from 1966 to 1968 on ABC and had years in syndication as well as we saw Adam West and Burt Ward playing Batman and Robin alongside a strong cast of villains and guest stars along the way. The series has long been sought after on home video for years but because of various licensing issues, it never came to fruition, even as the popularity of the character soared. It was largely expected that it would be coming sooner rather than later though after DC Comics gained the ability to produce comics off of the property with the recently launched and acclaimed Batman ’66 comic series, allowing an outlet for lighter and fun fare for the caped crusader.
No details are available in regards to pricing or formats but it’s expected there will be multiple configurations and collectors editions along the way.
