Eureka 7

FUNimation is essentially going to rename April to Eureka 7 based on the solicitations that have come out today – and we’re okay with that. While FUNimation generally works in combo form now for DVD/BD sets, there’s expectations that due to this being an older series and some different license configurations for it, it’s going to be harder to do for the TV series itself. That means we get a few split releases. The show has the TV series being split into two parts, which makes sense considering it’s a four season show overall, and it’s getting separate DVD and Blu-ray releases. The Blu-ray is also getting a limited edition release for a $5 premium that will likely be a box to hold the two halves. The movie is coming out on the same day with the DVD by itself but also a DVD/BD combo. Lots of choices, but really easy overall. And getting it all in the same day means just a lot of great Eureka to take in.

Elsewhere on the list… Cat Planet Cuties DVD/BD for $24.98? And already discounted down to $15? Freakin’ awesome deal for a very amusing fanservice SF comedy.

We get an Anime Classics edition for Heaven’s Lost Property first season as well as Spice & Wolf bringing its two seasons together in that form. Add in a SAVE edition of Shangri-La and a new big installment of One Piece in the larger complete collections and there’s a whole lot to like.
