Isshukan Friends
Announced back in November as going into production, some new information has surfaced on the anime adaptation of Isshukan Friends, which is based on the manga by Maccha Hazuki that kicked off in 2012 in Gangan Joker. The series has its first promotional video released, which is just over a minute long and definitely paints the atmosphere well. We also have some casting information coming out as Sora Amamiya will take on the role of Kaori Fujimiya while Yoshitaka Yamaya will take on Yuki Hase. Taoru Iwasaki is set to direct it for Brains Base working off of the scripts by Shotaro Suga and character designs by Eri Yamazaki. Four volumes have been released so far for the title that translates as One-Week Friends. The title is Hazuki’s second series as he made his debut with Kimi to Kami Hikouki to, a four panel manga series that only made one compiled volume over the two year run that began in 2008.
Plot concept: Kaori Fujimiya is always alone because all of her happy memories, including time spent with her friends, disappear every Monday. Deciding that he wants to be friends with her anyway, Yuuki Hase tries to get close to Kaori each week, wishing that she would one day call him “a friend”.
