Chalk up one of the usual last key pieces of information to come in for the anime adaptation of Hari Tokeino’s manga series Gakuen Babysitters. We’ve gotten most of the casting, some visuals, and a promotional video for it and now we have a premiere date of January 7th, 2018 as it kicks off on Tokyo MX before moving to other networks over the next few days. Shuusei Morishita is directing the series based on the series composition by Yuuko Kakihara. Mina Oosawa is on board as the character designer with Brain’s Base handling the animation production.
The previously revealed Japanese cast includes:

- Nozomi Furuki as Kotarō Kashima
- Yuichiro Umehara as Hayato Kamitani
- Yuko Sanpei as Taka Kamitani
- Tomoaki Maeno as Yoshihito Usaida
- Daisuke Ono as Keigo Saikawa
- Tomoko Miyadera as Yōko Morinomiya
- Ayaka Saito as Takuma Mamizuka
- Atsumi Tanezaki as Kazuma Mamizuka
- Konomi Kohara as Kirin Kumatsuka
- Kaede Hondo as Midori Sawatari
The manga began in 2009 and has fifteen volumes released so far. A drama CD was produced back in 2011 and one is coming with the sixteenth volume in January.
Plot Concept: After their parents are killed in a plane crash, Ryuuichi and his younger brother Kotarou are taken in by the chairman, who they never met before, of an elite academy. Ryuuichi becomes the school daycare’s new babysitter.
