Robocop
We’ve gotten a few trailers, some fun viral/promotional videos and a number of solid posters for the international and IMAX market, and now Sony Pictures is hitting up the clip side of things a bit more for Robocop. Set for release in North America ion February 12th, a week or so after a good chunk of the international roll out, we’ve got a look at a new poster that’s surfaced which plays up the dark aspect of the film with a sense of movement about it that’s welcome while also drawing in the police colors as well a bit. The film comes from Jose-Padhilha and stars Joel Kinnamon, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
Plot concept: The year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.
