Black Lagoon
One series that will definitely play well to the late night Toonami experience, especially if they just bleep out the expletives, will be Black Lagoon. The network announced that it will be airing the show on the block starting on March 22nd, taking over in the slot that Soul Eater currently resides after that series finishes its run. The series is one of the properties that FUNimation acquired from Geneon Entertainment while adding new material with Robert’s Blood Trail OVA series having come out and giving both of them the Blu-ray treatment.
Plot concept: Rokuro’s mundane trip to South East Asia turns from pleasure cruise to festival of pain when modern-day pirates take him hostage. Revy, Dutch, and Benny are the ruthless crew of the Black Lagoon. For them, getting shot at while smuggling drugs, guns, and stolen goods is part of a typical day at work – and Rokuro is joining the team.
