Bodacious Space Pirates
It’s been quiet for several month snow when it comes to the theatrical film for Moretsu Pirates, aka Bodacious Space Pirates, but now a new trailer has arrived for the film that clocks in at just over a minute and a half. The first feature for the property that’s coming from the TV series which is adapting the novels is set for a February 22nd, 2014 theatrical debut. Crunchyroll simulcast the series during its original run and Sentai Filmworks has licensed and released the series on bilingual DVD and Blu-ray in full.
Plot concept: Marika Katou, a third year student at Hakuho Girls’ Academy, is a legitimate space pirate with a Letter of Marque. Between her studies, leading her school’s space yacht club, working part time at Cafe Lamp, and being the captain of the space pirate ship Bentenmaru, Marika’s days are very busy. One day, Marika gets a job to rob a high-class passenger ship, and she discovers that on the passenger list is Kanata Mugen, a boy who owns a “galaxy pass”. Thus, an adventure featuring a hyperspace race between pirates and one young boy begins.
