Wonder Momo

Wonder Momo

Announced as getting streaming this week from Crunchyroll, a new English subtitled promo video has surfaced for Wonder Momo thanks to the folks at ShiftyLook. The series comes from the Namco Bandai 1987 arcade game character of the same name that’s getting a bit of a resurgence these days. A new game is hitting from Way Forward, clothing is making the rounds and Udon is releasing a graphic novel adaptation in North America which is why it’s definitely a positive that Crunchyroll will be handling the anime streaming to try and ride the potential wave. The series  will run for five episodes at about five minutes long and is produced by studio Graphinica, Inc. It’s being directed by Yutaka Kagawa based on scripts by Ayumi Inabe, which is working off the original graphic novel material by Erik Ko and Jim Zub.

Plot concept: One day, a group of aliens planning to take over the Earth invade Tokyo. Momoko, who aspires to be an idol, gets involved in the fight in an unexpected form. Warudemon, king of the alien empire, uses various tactics to hunt down Momoko and the people around her. Momoko has decided to stand up to the Warudemon plain and simple.
