Candice Patton
Casting for the pilot for The Flash for The CW continues on as Candice Patton of The Game has been added to play Iris West. She joins Grant Gustin in the lead, as seen during the two part Arrow storyline that kickstarted his origin story, alone with Jesse L. Martin as Detecttive West. The pilot is being done by the same people behind Arrow and has added some intriguing pieces to the puzzle early on here with the casting. In addition to Patton joining the show, we’ve also had the casting of Rick Cosnett to play Eddie Thawne, which we know will play big, and Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow. Thawne is based on the Professor Zoom character that’s integral to Flash’s origin story while Snow is based on the character of Killer Frost. We’ve also seen the addition of Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, which brings in the character of Vibe. There are a lot of connections to STAR Labs with the casting so far, which makes sense if they’re going to kick off the full origin with an explosion at the lab, which we got a taste of from the Arrow episodes.
