There’s definitely this feeling of an uptick this year in what the manga distributors are bringing out, especially with the use of novels starting to surface once again after some semi-disastrous results a decade ago. Yen Press has announced their July and August slate of titles and there’s a lot of good stuff in there. On the novel side, we get the debut of Accel World but we also get the second Sword Art Online novel as the Aincrad story continues, both of which are from Reiki Kawahara.
Yen Press also has some solid ongoing manga releases hitting tihs month with more Highschool DxD and Watamote as well as another massive Umineko release. These guys are cranking out some solid releases and the fact that they’re churning out 550 page collections of Umineko – the seventh one in fact – is just amazing.
