Hitting the Christmas episode here, the series shows us just how far young love will go with Ichika. Seeing her with bags and bags of yarn is definitely amusing since that’s such a normal thing for her to be involved in. As we get with holidays, there’s a lot going on and we see how friendly Tomoya is with everyone, including Fujisaki, but she’s just playing nice outwardly with everyone but Tomoya as she intends to win him over. Similarly, we see how Ichika is just viewing Fujisaki as competition, which of course misses the whole point of the season. Still, it’s fun watching how they all interact with each other since Tomoya is caught in the middle of a pretty unfriendly situation and he just tries to make everyone happy.
In Summary:
Holiday episodes when you’re not anticipating the holiday always feel a little off, but this one manages to avoid it since it’s more about showing the true nature of the girls that are trying to gain control of Tomoya. I continue to like how Tomoya is just weirded out by it all and is simply doing what he can to enjoy life and the holidays while others are conspiring towards their own ends. It’s simple, cute and actually has a nice little message at the end.
