Tempest
Getting its start back in 2010 as part of ITAN magazine, Kodansha Japan has put together a pretty slick little promotional video for Tempest ahead of the March 7th, 2014 release of the fifth volume of the series. The series is one that definitely hasn’t gotten a lot of traction but has its appeal since it ticks off a lot of boxes that old school science fiction fans like since it’s a josei drama with a bit of gender bender material in there as well.
Plot concept: After a solar storm destroys the Y chromosome, the male sex dies out. But the women find a way to cross ova each other to survive. But after almost 2000 years, a boy is suddenly born: Hime. Hidden, he grows up and wants nothing more than to be a normal girl and his great love Kou to tell the truth. However, the chromosome decay seems to spread to the female sex. Researchers are working hard on a path back to give birth to men. Can frozen sperm be the solution?
