Starting in August with volume six, the manga by Hajime Isayama’s will move to a monthly release. They didn’t indicate for how many volumes, but it’s likely to go up to the tenth that is currently in release in Japan as that would put out one new volume a month through December and have the series up to date with its Japanese release.

“Kodansha started publishing Attack on Titan in Japan in 2010, where it quickly grew to become of the company’s hottest new manga in years. The highly-anticipated English version debuted in 2012 from Kodansha Comics, where it immediately hit the bestseller charts. In April 2013, the anime for the series made its debut simultaneously in Japan and in the U.S., and now demand for the series is through the roof. The title will release simultaneously in print and digital formats across all major platforms currently supporting manga.”

Attack on Titan joins Fairy Tail, which is currently also releasing on an accelerated basis. Fairy Tail, however, is currently seeing two volumes release digitally every month, while the print version stays on a monthly schedule.
