Japanese site Cinema Today has an interesting video that came up just before the Academy Awards this weekend where they sent a reporter to Hollywood where she interviewed a number of “man on the street” pieces with fans going in to see The Wind Rises. The video clocks in at just over five minutes and has the reporter talking about the films experiences here and some of Studio Ghibli’s past works, but the interesting part is seeing the attention given to the variety of American fans here and their interpretations of the film, Miyazaki himself and the artistry of it as well.
