Black Bird Volume 16
Viz Media is taking a bit of a shine to some of its manga properties in box set form lately and one we’re very glad to see has been announced. Set for release in October 2014, just ahead of the big Christmas shopping season, fans iwll be able to get the complete Black Bird series in one box set for $149.99 MSRP. The release will bring all eighteen volumes of the series together at an already low price and retailer discounts will likely drive it closer to $100. Which is a lot of manga for that price.
The series comes from creator Kanako Sakurakoji which began in 2007 and concluded at the end of 2012.
Plot Concept: There is a world of myth and magic that intersects ours, and only a special few can see it. Misao Harada is one such person, and she wants nothing to do with magical realms. She just wants to have a normal high school life and maybe get a boyfriend. But she is the bride of demon prophecy, and her blood grants incredible powers, her flesh immortality. Now the demon realm is fighting over the right to her hand…or her life! Creator Kanoko Sakurakouji won the 54th annual Shogakukan Manga Award for BLACK BIRD. This box set includes volumes 1-18, comprising the entire series, and a mini art book premium.
