Chris Evans certainly got a bit of a Twitter buzz recently when he talked about doing less acting in the coming years once he’s done with Captain America, but some clarification has definitely come with a new interview video that has landed. With his work directing 1;30 Train last year, he’s been bitten by the directorial bug and is looking to do more of that. And he even goes so far as to say that he may just get his in front of the camera time from working within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which could lead to some interesting story potential as the franchises move along.
Also of interest is that he does clarify, much to the delight of many of his fans, that his cameo in the Thor: The Dark World movie doesn’t count against his six picture deal that he originally signed with Marvel. So far, four of his features are either done or are in progress for the contract with Captain America: The First Avenger, Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron. And he’s pretty much spot on for a third Captain America outing and likely the planned third Avengers movie as well.
“Oh yeah, this was a big thing! I gotta watch what I say. I will absolutely clarify. I have a six-movie contract with Marvel and I absolutely plan on fulfilling them. This is without a doubt the biggest blessing in my life. Marvel has literally changed the game for me, and they make great movies. I did direct last year and it was a really fantastic experience, I really enjoyed it. So I’m certainly looking to do that a bit more, so when it comes to exploring other acting jobs I may not be as proactive in trying to find those, I may kind of stick with my Marvel universe in terms of getting in front of the camera, and then getting behind the camera outside of it.”
