Strange+ Episode 10

Strange+ Episode 10

Are the opening and end cards of the show still the best thing?

What They Say:
Kou comes to a certain city, in search of his older brother Takumi, who ran away from home and disappeared. Thinking it’d be rather difficult to find his older brother, Kou decides not to go back until he finds him… but he ends up finding him immediately. However, when Kou is reunited with Takumi, he had become the head of the Mikuni Detective Agency. Takumi appears to have no intentions to go back home. Kou then decides that if his older brother isn’t going to come home, he’s going to stay at the Mikuni Detective Agency.

The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
The gang gets a new mission this time around that has them holding onto a medal that’s worth about eighty million yen, though they’re excited at first until they find out there’s a bit of a curse on it. From there, they all come up with different ways of getting someone else in the group to wear it, which leads to some comical moments as they go through this all while having to deal with the curse moments themselves as bad luck hits in a huge, huge way. Everything seems to work against the group and there’s a lot of amusing collateral damage along the way with people getting taken out by all sorts of unusual physical gags that threaten them.

In Summary:
In a lot of ways, the straightforward setup of this episode is what’s been missing from so many other ones, which in turn causes the humor to never feel like it has a good flow since it starts badly. Here, with a simple and quickly hit premise, it works well and you have to laugh at the absurdity of situations that happen because of the cursed medallion. It’s all basic and expected kind of stuff but it hits it fast and furious with a number of good laughs to be had.
