Isshukan Friends

Isshukan Friends

Spring series Isshukan Friends has put out a few pretty good character promos previously that have focused on the two leads individually in both long and TV sized forms. Now, as we’re narrowing in on the April premiere, TOHO has put out a new ninety-second promo that gives both of them more time interacting with each other. The promo also highlights a bit of the opening theme song that’s being done by Natsumi Kon, whose music was last seen in Majestic Prince as an insert song. The show is based on the manga by Maccha Hazuki that kicked off in 2012 in Gangan Joker. The series had its first promotional video released awhile ago which definitely paints the atmosphere well. Isshukun Friends is set to debut on April 7th on Tokyo MX.

In regards to the cast, the show has Sora Amamiya taking on the role of Kaori Fujimiya while Yoshitaka Yamaya will take on Yuki Hase. Taoru Iwasaki is set to direct it for Brains Base working off of the scripts by Shotaro Suga and character designs by Eri Yamazaki. Four volumes have been released so far for the title that translates as One-Week Friends. The title is Hazuki’s second series as he made his debut with Kimi to Kami Hikouki to, a four panel manga series that only made one compiled volume over the two year run that began in 2008.

Plot concept: Kaori Fujimiya is always alone because all of her happy memories, including time spent with her friends, disappear every Monday. Deciding that he wants to be friends with her anyway, Yuuki Hase tries to get close to Kaori each week, wishing that she would one day call him “a friend”.
