Coffin Princess Chaika updated recently with news of its premiere date, which is set for April 9th, 2014, and now a new TV spot has come out that highlights the opening song by Iori Nomizu. The spot goes for the quick and fast hook with plenty of action in a short space of time with some catchy upbeat music that’s fast paced. Chika Anzai has been slotted to take on the role of Chaika Trabant, the lead character, while Junji Majima is set to play Toru Acura. Yuko Hara has also joined the cast to play the role of Akari Acura while Chiwa Saito has signed on to play Fredrica.
The property comes from writer Sakaki Ichirou, who is known for his work Scrapped Princess primarily. The series is getting animated by Bones with directer Soichi Masui set to direct, which is amusing since he did Scrapped Princess as well. The series will be adapted by Touko Machida while Nobuhiro Arai will be handling the character designs. Known as Hitsugime no Chaika in Japan, the novels began back in 2010 and a manga adaptation kicked off in late 2011.
Plot Concept: Toru Acura, an incredibly lazy man with some hidden talents, has been forced by his sister Akari to actually go outside and search for work. However, he is in for a big surprise when he meets Chaika Trabant in the forest, and they are suddenly attacked by a monster! How will they survive? Who is this mysterious girl, and why is she being targeted?
