Psycho-Pass
Anticipation is high for more Psycho-Pass after the first season got so many raves and the attention earned it not only a sequel season but a new theatrical feature. Now, ahead of those properties coming out in 2014, noitaminA has produced a new 80 second promotional clip to showcase the works that are coming with some tentative months being set for July and October. The clip spends most of its first minute doing a fast paced blink and you miss it recap of the first season before giving us mostly new footage in the last twenty seconds.
The progress for the show in 2014 will be interesting. We’re getting a re-edited version of the original series first in July, which looks like it’ll be done as a series of hour long episodes. In October, we’ll get the new series, Psycho-Pass – Psycopaths 2. And then in the winter we’ll see the movie. A new key visual was also released as part of the overall presentation, which you can see below.
Property Concept: The series takes place in the near future, when it is possible to instantaneously measure and quantify a person’s state of mind and personality. This information is recorded and processed, and the term “Psycho-Pass” refers to a standard used to measure an individual’s being. The story centers around the “enforcement officer” Shinya Kougami, who is tasked with managing crime in such a world.
In the future, it is possible to quantitatively measure a person’s emotions, desires, and every inclination. In this way, it is also possible to measure a person’s criminal tendency factor, which is used to judge criminals.
This is the story of a team of policemen dedicated to maintaining public order. Some of them work in the Enforcement Division, responsible for the apprehension of criminals, while others belong to the Supervisory Division which oversees their colleagues in Enforcement.
