Steins Gate
There’s some potentially very good news for Steins; Gate fans as multiple Japanese vendors are now listing the upcoming release of the Steins; Gate movie on Blu-ray to have English subtitles on it. With the well known popularity of the franchise outside of Japan, it’s still rare to see such things, but movie releases tend to play on international festival circuits and have easily available subtitle tracks which can be included. There are multiple versions being released as you can see here at Amazon Japan, but the priciest version os the “ultra luxury” edition that’s an Amazon Japan exclusive.
The five disc release comes with a new book and some newly recorded drama CDs that looks like it will really tempt the native speaker. It looks like they run for 99 minutes combined and the release also includes the soundtrack for the film.
Series premise: Steins;Gate is about a group of friends who have customized their microwave into a device that can send text messages to the past. As they perform different experiments, an organization named SERN, who has been doing their own research on time travel, tracks them down and now the characters have to find a way to avoid being captured by them.
