As we get closer to the April 5th, 2014 debut of Captain Earth, it, like many other series, get a lot of new TV spots landing to show it off. And since this one brings us a good bit of Bones style animation to it, it’s definitely worth taking the gander at, even more so with its pedigree. Similar to the previous video that Avex released, we get a good glimpse of character and action material but also a tease of the music, which includes a portion of the opening song by fliumpool. The series comes from the same team that worked on Star Driver and is set for an April debut. It’s set to be directed by Takuya Igarashi with scripts by by Yoji Enokido. Character designs are being done by Satoshi Ishino based on the original designs by Fumi Minato. Check out the full cast and staff breakdown below the video.
Plot concept: One night right before summer vacation, Daiji Manatsu, a second-year in high school, sees a weird round rainbow floating in the sky above Seed Island (Shuushi/Tane Island) and ventures there alone. He has seen this rainbow before. With the memories of his father’s mysterious death and an encounter of a mysterious boy and girl, Daiji arrives on the island while the alarm of a building labeled “Earth Engine” is going off. Someone asks him “Are you a captain?” just as robotic intruders from Uranus called “Kiltgang” arrive. The battle around the shining stars is about to begin.
