Hope died awhile ago for some creative naming in the franchise for this and it’s confirmed with the new Tumblr based image for the meetup for Amazing Spider-Man 2. The film, due on May 2nd, 2014, also had its formal banner revealed ahead of SDCC with the imagery making it clear who the villain is this time around, which definitely helps when it comes to promoting a film, and it adds some decent darkness to things here. The spider logo itself is continuing to evolve from what we saw in the first film too.
But really, we had hoped that it wouldn’t have a 2 attached to the end of the name.
Plot Concept: In “Amazing Spider-Man 2,” Peter Parker has to survive his greatest threat yet: life after high school, while still spinning webs and busting bad guys. He maintains his Spider-Man alter-ego and still shares an “in a relationship” Facebook status with Gwen Stacy, despite her late father’s dying wish for Peter to leave her alone. Making matters more complicated is the arrival of a new villain — the electrifying Electro — and the return of an old friend from Peter’s past: Harry Osborn, son of the great scientist and businessman Norman Osborn.
