In limited theaters back on March 9th of this year before expanding at the end of the month and making just over $1 million theatrically, Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home now has a known home video street date. During the talk show event that happened over the weekend, it was revealed that the title will be out on October 16th, though those in Yuwaku Onse in Kanazawa prefecture during the Bonbori festival there would have the opportunity to purchase it a few days early on October 12th. The film follows up the two season TV series of the same name that is seeing release from NIS America, who announced the acquisition of the movie rights at Anime Expo this year. They have yet to announce their release plans for it in terms of dates and formats, which may now be easier to do as the Japanese release has been settled. Pricing and first press editions for the Japanese release are to be revealed at a later date.
Plot Concept: Ohana has grown accustomed to living in the hot springs inn her grandmother manages, Kissuisou. One day, the daughter of a manager for Kissuisou’s rival inn, Yuina, comes to Kissuisou for training to become a landlady herself. As Ohana is observing her training, she finds “a certain item” in the storeroom while cleaning.
