Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou
The light novel series by Shunsuke Sarai turned anime from Gonzo that debuts on July 2nd has gotten its home video release schedule set today. The show is being distributed by Avex with twelve episodes across six DVD and Blu-ray releases beginning on September 20th. The Blu-ray editions will run 7,350 yen each for all volumes while the DVDs will run for 6,300 yen each for all six volumes.
Going by the information as revealed through the listings here, each release will have a twenty page booklet and some really interesting first press bonus items that are welcome to see, at least for those that can read Japanese as each volume of the Blu-ray will come with a bonus novel as written by the original creator. On disc extras are standard fare with the clean opening and closing listed for the first volume and undisclosed extras for later ones.
Plot Concept: A nonsense comical mystery. Harumi Kazuhito is a high school boy who loves books and is a fan of novelist Natsuno Kirihime. One day, he finds Kirihime writing at a cafe, about to be shot by a robber. He protects her from the attack but is killed instead. Through the supernatural power of a book-worm, he is reincarnated as a dachshund dog. Kazuhito (as a dog) writhes in a painful bookless life, when a sadistic woman carrying a pair of scissors offers him help. She is Kirihime herself.
