Live action adaptations of anime and manga are nothing new and there are some that can be done pretty well. While Lupin the 3rd has hard a live action adaptation before with Lupin The Third: Strange Psychokinetic Strategy, there’s a new feature that’s set to debut on August 30th, 2014 in Japan. And it’s certainly a property that makes sense to try and make work since it has plenty of easy franchise potential, particularly with anime specials running once a year to build off of for awareness. The feature has debuted a series of character stills to highlight the cast that worked on the project during the fourth quarter of 2013 where they filmed in Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines. The film is directed by Ryūhei Kitamura, whose last directing project was 2008′s Midnight Meat Train and he has some good credits to his name with both Alive and Versus.
