With FX continuing to ramp up its slate of original works and looking to promote them smartly, we’ve now got our newest teaser for the summer series The Strain. The first teaser spot came at the end of 2013 in the middle of the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead and now they’ve brought out a new one during the spring premiere of the TV interpretation of Fargo. Similar to the first spot, the series is not one that really grabs you with this promo, though it’ll raise a level of curiosity among the right kinds of fans that will investigate more on it. The series previously got its first season order and is projected to get between 39 and 65 episodes depending on how things go when all is said and done, making this a series worth checking out.
Plot concept: The Strain is a high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.
