Almost Human

Fox has ended up passing on one of the new science fiction series it launched in the fall 2014 season as Almost Human has gotten the cancellation notice. The series brought Karl Urban to US TV with Michael Ealy with part of the Fringe production team that wanted to do something more mainstream that had a better chance of surviving. Unfortunately, the series had a delayed broadcast start and ended up with a schedule that caused it to skip weeks at a time, which naturally killed the interest for a lot of people who we never sure when it was on. Fox has a number of shows that it’s looking to add for the fall season and didn’t want to commit more time to this series.

Which is unfortunate. While it’s not one that we covered here due to time constraints, the series definitely was pretty appealing with its character dynamic and the nods towards robotics and some of Asimov’s writings from decades ago influencing pieces of it. We definitely recommend checking it out and watching it if you can catch it On Demand, streaming or the eventual home video release as one of those “could have been” series if it was given more than thirteen episodes to grow.
