With a new TV series running this spring that came after a TV special last year and another one earlier this year, Kindaichi Case Files is on a roll these days. With a good bit of wind at its sails as mystery shows almost always do well in Japan, the majority of the cast from the recent two specials are set to reprise their roles in a new TV series. That live action series is set to debut in July of this year on Saturday evenings in the plum 9pm position. The property works again from the material from the original manga and it brings in most of the same cast that was used in the specials, which includes a couple from the Hey! Say! JUMP band. The series will star Ryōsuke Yamada as Hajime Kindaichi, Haruna Kawaguchi as Miyuki Nanase, Daiki Arioka as Ryūji Saki. Yōsuke Asari as Makoto Makabe and Tomomitsu Yamaguchi as police inspector Isamu Kenmochi. Prior to the new specials of the last year, there was an original series back in the mid 90′s with a couple of specials and a total of three series between 1995 and 2005.
Plot concept: Hajime (Ryosuke Yamada), Miyuki (Haruna Kawaguchi) and Ryuji (Arioka Daiki) and other members of the school’s mystery research group become involved in difficult cases and must infer who the culprits are.
