Syfy is continuing to build their slate of actual science fiction series that aren’t all Earth-bound with the addition of Killjoys. The series, which will have a ten episode first season order, is being co-produced with Canadian network Space with plans to film this August. Space picked up the series back in late 2013 and Syfy has boarded it as a co-producer with plans for a 2015 debut. The series comes from Michelle Lovretta who was the creator behind Lost Girl and features produces from Orphan Black involved as well.
“With its explosive action, smartly-drawn characters, and fun and provocative story-lines, Killjoys has all the ingredients to make it the perfect complement to our expanding slate of quality science fiction drama series,” said Syfy president Dave Howe.
Plot concept: It follows a fun-loving, hard living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multiplanetary class war.
