HulkWith Avengers: Age of Ultron set to debut on May 1st, 2015, there will likely be a bit more pressure once again for a new Hulk film to come. With the character stealing the show – both in human form as played by Mark Ruffalo and in CGI form as voiced by the original TV actor Lou Ferrigno – there was a lot of clamoring for it even as Ruffalo put the kibosh on it. Basic statements pointed to the fact that the character is hard to do as a standalone piece and that he works better with others. With the 2003 Hulk film doing $245 million on its #137 million budget and the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk doing $263 million on a $150 million budget, you can see where Marvel is coming from when there’s so many other characters to work with.

But Lou Ferrigno, appearing on a Minnesota radio show this week, made a statement that could give fans a bit of hope. “Now, because he saved the day, they’re making another solo Hulk movie after the second Avengers comes out.”

It’s not the first time we’ve heard Ferrigno talking about more of the character, and we certainly hope it’s true since they’d likely do a team-up movie of some sort in order to take the burden entirely off of the character.
