Now that we’re moving firmly beyond Captain America: The Winter Soldier and getting our summer time going, the marketing side for Guardians of the Galaxy will start increasing. The latest bit to surface comes from a magazine piece in Geek Magazine where there’s an interview with James Gunn. Within it, a pair of images have surfaced of Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, aka Star Lord, that shows off more of the costume and the mask in particular. The mask/helmet is a curious piece with how it’s designed that will be interesting to see how it factors in with the actual narrative and interactions with others. But as the images show, it definitely looks badass and definitely more so with the jacket that he’s wearing.
Set for release on August first as directed by James Gunn, the feature brings together Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Dave Batista, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Gregg Henry.
Plot concept: An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits — Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand — with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
