While the game was announced at the end of 2013 and doesn’t have a release date yet, the latest entry in the Tales franchise is going to make the leap to the anime side, which should surprise nobody. Details are still slim but prior to the debut of the game, there will be a Tales of Zestiria anime special which will be animated by Ufotable. No staff or cast have been revealed at this stage but it was revealed that Superfly will be handing the theme song for the special.
Game concept: Announced during a Tales event livestream celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary on 12/12/2013, Tales of Zestiria is the latest in the long running action-JRPG Tales series. Ufotable Inc, the company known for handling many of prior Tales games animated cutscenes, will be returning for Zestiria. Dragons are said to play a significant part in the game, and Zestiria overall is to focus more so on pure fantasy, rather than the sci-fi fantasy hybrid of the latter few Tales games.
