Tokyo ESP

Another of the summer 2014 series has  had a little more material come out for it as a new key visual has surfaced for Tokyo ESP. The series is based on the manga of the same name that comes from Hajime Segawa which began back in 2010 and has eight volumes running so far. The anime adaptation is setup at Xebec with Shighito Takayanagi directing based on scripts by Hideyuki Kurata and Yasuko Kamo while Mitsuru Ishihara will be handling the character designs along with Masaaki Takiyama, who is also serving as the chief animation director. The original creator, Segawa, also was behind a previously licensed series in North America with Ga Rei Zero.

Plot concept: The science fantasy story Tokyo ESP begins with Rinka, an extremely poor high school girl who lives with just her father in modern Tokyo. One day, she is going home from school when she chases a “flying penguin” to the top of New Tokyo Tower—only to have “fish swimming in the air” suddenly appear before her. One of the fish goes through Rinka and gives her extraordinary powers beyond those of normal humans, particularly the ability to slip through solid objects.
