Yasuhiro Nightow scored a big success previously with Trigun, which spawned a TV series and a movie, and now another of his works is ready to make the leap. Blood Blockade Battlefront began in 2009 and has eight volumes released so far, with five of them out in North America through Dark Horse Comics, and the ninth volume has just landed in Japan with the news that an anime adaptation is coming. The details are beyond barebones as it doesn’t indicate what kind of project it will be, either OVA, TV series or something else, but the information is set to come in the near future.
