As Star Wars Celebration rolls on in Germany, some new things are surfacing in regards to the new series Star Wars Rebels, which is premiereing in the fall of 2014 as a one hour special on Disney XD. THe panel brought in Dave Filoni, who produced and worked on Clone Wars for the last five seasons, and he showed off a lot of concept designs and even noting that they created new digital brushes to provide a similar approach to legendary artist and designer Ralph MqQuarrie, who did a lot of the original concept design for the first Star Wars film.
“Filoni talked at length about the use of McQuarrie art as a springboard for the series, showcasing many works from the original trilogy, including landscapes and characters, and detailing how they inform the visual identity of Star Wars Rebels.”
