Berserk II
What a week for anime releases. There’s some really good stuff, new and old, hitting this week and you have to bang your head on the desk realizing the pricing of it. Look at the new release of Black Lagoon: Roberta’s Blood Trail for example; a five episodes OVA series, on both DVD and Blu-ray, for just $22 with discounts. Think about that for a minute with the content/quality of it. Even more surprising is the release of Garden of Words, which comes just a couple of months after release in Japan – and has been available at a number of retailers for most of it, making it a near-simultaneous release with a dub. And Amazon is crushing it with the DVD version being 60% off right now. And the release of the second Berserk movie just is a delight as it’s still amazing this property is getting such a high profile treatment in Japan and abroad and we’re getting high quality Blu-ray releases from Viz Media, a company that most wrote off for dead when it came to anime just a couple of years ago.
